Differential rotation of nonlinear r-modes
Differential rotation of r-modes is investigated within the nonlinear theory
up to second order in the mode amplitude in the case of a slowly-rotating,
Newtonian, barotropic, perfect-fluid star. We find a nonlinear extension of the
linear r-mode, which represents differential rotation that produces large scale
drifts of fluid elements along stellar latitudes. This solution includes a
piece induced by first-order quantities and another one which is a pure
second-order effect. Since the latter is stratified on cylinders, it cannot
cancel differential rotation induced by first-order quantities, which is not
stratified on cylinders. It is shown that, unlikely the situation in the
linearized theory, r-modes do not preserve vorticity of fluid elements at
second-order. It is also shown that the physical angular momentum and energy of
the perturbation are, in general, different from the corresponding canonical

From M-ary Query to Bit Query: a new strategy for efficient large-scale RFID identification
The tag collision avoidance has been viewed as one of the most important research problems in RFID communications and bit tracking technology has been widely embedded in query tree (QT) based algorithms to tackle such challenge. Existing solutions show further opportunity to greatly improve the reading performance because collision queries and empty queries are not fully explored. In this paper, a bit query (BQ) strategy based Mary query tree protocol (BQMT) is presented, which can not only eliminate idle queries but also separate collided tags into many small subsets and make full use of the collided bits. To further optimize the reading performance, a modified dual prefixes matching (MDPM) mechanism is presented to allow multiple tags to respond in the same slot and thus significantly reduce the number of queries. Theoretical analysis and simulations are supplemented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed BQMT and MDPM, which outperform the existing QT-based algorithms. Also, the BQMT and MDPM can be combined to BQMDPM to improve the reading performance in system efficiency, total identification time, communication complexity and average energy cost
The Muonium Atom as a Probe of Physics beyond the Standard Model
The observed interactions between particles are not fully explained in the
successful theoretical description of the standard model to date. Due to the
close confinement of the bound state muonium () can be used as
an ideal probe of quantum electrodynamics and weak interaction and also for a
search for additional interactions between leptons. Of special interest is the
lepton number violating process of sponteanous conversion of muonium to

Long term follow up of persistence of immunity following quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in immunocompromised children
Background: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) causes significant burden of HPV-related diseases, which are more prevalent in immunosuppressed compared to immunocompetent people. We conducted a multi-centre clinical trial to determine the immunogenicity and reactogenicity of HPV vaccine in immunocompromised children. Here we present the immunogenicity results 5âŻyears post vaccination. Methods: We followed up immunocompromised children (5-18âŻyears) with a range of specified underlying conditions who were previously recruited from three Australian paediatric hospitals. Participants received three doses of quadrivalent HPV vaccine (Gardasil Quadrivalent HPV Types 6, 11, 16, 18) and were followed up between 2007 and 2016 (60âŻmonths post-vaccination). The immunogenicity primary outcome was seroconversion and geometric mean titres (GMT) of the quadrivalent HPV vaccine serotypes in the study. Results: Of the 59 original participants, 37 were followed up at 60âŻmonths. The proportion of participants who seroconverted were: 86.5%, 89.2%, 89.2%, 91.9% by competitive Luminex immunoassay (cLIA) and 83.8%, 83.8%, 94.6%, 78.4% by total immunoglobulin G assays (IgG) for serotypes 6, 11, 16 and 18 respectively. GMT values ranged from 118 (95%CI: 79-177) for serotype 11, to 373 (95%CI: 215-649) for serotype 16 by cLIA. For IgG, serotype 16 had the highest GMT of 261 (95%CI: 143-477) and serotype 18 had the lowest value of 37 (95%CI: 21-68). All antibody titres were lower in females compared to males but the difference was not statistically significant except for serotype 16. No serious adverse event was reported during this follow-up period. Conclusion: Our evidence, although limited by small numbers, is reassuring that a three dose schedule of HPV vaccine remains immunogenic in immunocompromised children to five years post vaccination. The Seyfert-LINER Galaxy NGC 7213: An XMM-Newton Observation
We examine the XMM X-ray spectrum of the LINER-AGN NGC 7213, which is best
fit with a power law, K-alpha emission lines from Fe I, Fe XXV and Fe XXVI and
a soft X-ray collisionally ionised thermal plasma with kT=0.18 +0.03/-0.01 keV.
We find a luminosity of 7x10^(-4) L_Edd, and a lack of soft X-ray excess
emission, suggesting a truncated accretion disc. NGC 7213 has intermediate
X-ray spectral properties, between those of the weak AGN found in the LINER M81
and higher luminosity Seyfert galaxies. This supports the notion of a
continuous sequence of X-ray properties from the Galactic Centre through LINER
galaxies to Seyferts, likely determined by the amount of material available for

New Phase-coherent Measurements of Pulsar Braking Indices
Pulsar braking indices offer insight into the physics that underlies pulsar
spin-down. Only five braking indices have been measured via phase-coherent
timing; all measured values are less than 3, the value expected from magnetic
dipole radiation. Here we present new measurements for three of the five pulsar
braking indices, obtained with phase-coherent timing for PSRs J1846-0258
(n=2.65+/-0.01), B1509-58 (n=2.839+/-0.001) and B0540-69 (n=2.140+/-0.009). We
discuss the implications of these results and possible physical explanations

Search for displaced vertices arising from decays of new heavy particles in 7 TeV pp collisions at ATLAS
We present the results of a search for new, heavy particles that decay at a
significant distance from their production point into a final state containing
charged hadrons in association with a high-momentum muon. The search is
conducted in a pp-collision data sample with a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV
and an integrated luminosity of 33 pb^-1 collected in 2010 by the ATLAS
detector operating at the Large Hadron Collider. Production of such particles
is expected in various scenarios of physics beyond the standard model. We
observe no signal and place limits on the production cross-section of
supersymmetric particles in an R-parity-violating scenario as a function of the
neutralino lifetime. Limits are presented for different squark and neutralino

Measurement of the polarisation of W bosons produced with large transverse momentum in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV with the ATLAS experiment
This paper describes an analysis of the angular distribution of W->enu and
W->munu decays, using data from pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV recorded with
the ATLAS detector at the LHC in 2010, corresponding to an integrated
luminosity of about 35 pb^-1. Using the decay lepton transverse momentum and
the missing transverse energy, the W decay angular distribution projected onto
the transverse plane is obtained and analysed in terms of helicity fractions
f0, fL and fR over two ranges of W transverse momentum (ptw): 35 < ptw < 50 GeV
and ptw > 50 GeV. Good agreement is found with theoretical predictions. For ptw
> 50 GeV, the values of f0 and fL-fR, averaged over charge and lepton flavour,
are measured to be : f0 = 0.127 +/- 0.030 +/- 0.108 and fL-fR = 0.252 +/- 0.017
+/- 0.030, where the first uncertainties are statistical, and the second
